Position of Attention and Stand at Ease

Command Dengan Lompat, Sedia(Jump to attention)
Drill Movement
  • At the command, hop slightly off the ground to bring both heels together and move both arms to the side of the body as at the basic attention position.
  • For both arms, straightened (upper arm, forearm and wrist are flushed straight, alongside the thigh bone keeping them straight, with the thumb in the centre of the thigh or by the seam line of the trackpants, clench fists, thumbs facing forward, covering 'hole' and all five fingers touching the thigh.

Drill Movement
  • At the command, hop slightly off the ground to bring both heels shoulder width apart and move both arms to the back of the body as at the basic at ease position.
  • For both arms, straighten out fingers, in closed manner(like saluting), and arms. Rest both hands in line with vertical center of the body with the left hand palm over right hand back of palm and pull back shoulders to broadest point.

  • At the command, hop on the spot to face the left with both heels touching.

Quick Jog & Halting in Quick Time

  • Start jogging with left foot forward. At the same time both arms will be retracted upwards with both hands clenching into a fist.
  • Check dressing by taking reference with the leading row and the rank on the left.

  • Command is given when right foot strikes the ground.
  • Execute a normal pace with the left foot. Then bring the right foot next to the left foot.
  • Do mark time at the spot at double quick time.

  • Command is given when left foot strikes the ground.
  • Complete 4 more alternating leg mark time movements.
  • Then drive the right foot to strike the ground just beside the left foot. At the same time, cut both arms down to the attention position.

Dressing

Command Ke Kanan Lurus(Right dressing)
Drill Movement
  • At the command, the right marker’s column will raise their right arms forward (with thumb facing up) and the first rank will raise their right arms to the right (with thumbs facing front).
  • Everyone, except the right marker’s column, will also turn their heads 45ºs to the right.
  • If there is insufficient space, right marker’s column and first rank will raise their arms to the right and back of the shoulders of the person to their front and right respectively.
  • Thereafter, everyone will do a bang with their left leg and shuffle their feet to take dressing. The right marker’s column will take dressing of 1 arm 6 inches from the person in front forward in line with the back of the hand facing right. Knuckles of the closed hand should be 6 inches from the shoulder of the man in front.
  • The first rank will take dressing of 1 arm length by lifting their right arm to the side with the fist clenched. Knuckles should touch the left arm of the man to their right, keeping the back of hand facing upwards. However, if the person on right is taller, right arm should be raised to shoulder level.
  • Correct dressing by shuffling the feet, whilst body remains upright, until the chin of the alternate person on the right can be seen by glancing out of the corner of eye.
  • When everyone has taken dressing accordingly, the shuffling will stop.
  • The right marker will not do any arm or head movement throughout the execution of the command.
  • Shuffling of feet should be executed even if originally in the correct position.
  • Centre and rear ranks are to ensure that they are in straight rows by aligning themselves to the person in front of them and to their right.
Common Faults
  • Sluggish movement.
  • Not looking up or square to the right.
  • Shoulder inclined to the back.
  • Craning forearm.
  • Not keeping the shoulders square to the front.
  • Unnecessary movement and shuffling.
  • Looking downwards.
Timing Up-Check-Bang
Command Pandang Ke Hadapan Pandang(Eyes front)
Drill Movement
  • Turn head sharply to the front.
  • At the same time, return to the attention position by returning the right hand back to the side of the body, keeping both arms straight.
Common Faults
  • Sluggish movement of head and arms.

Falling Out & Dismissing

Drill Movement
  • Jump on the spot to the right with both heels touching.
  • After the regulation pause, start jogging with left foot forward and at the same time retract both arms upwards with both hands clenching into a fist.
